Back again to the little village of Tomales. This time I focused on Main Street and the passers-through having some refreshments. You'll find bicyclists and motorcyclists here regularly. 20"x16" oil on canvas.

- I'm an oil painter living in beautiful Sonoma County, specifically Santa Rosa, California. I paint almost daily, and can't imagine not painting. I've had many professions, but I was always longing to do art while trying to focus on a job to make a living. I finally gave in to my urge. I LOVE to paint and draw. I grew up in Los Angeles and started doing artwork when I was very young. I do not have a formal art education, but have taken many, many art classes and workshops by well known artists . I guess that's called self-taught, although I didn't teach myself.In L.A. I was a member of the Valley Watercolor Society for many years, and when I moved to Northern California initiated WASCO, a watercolor club. Recently I started a group of eight artists called Sonoma 8.

For me, the exquisite moment is that bit of bicycle shadow in the foreground. Great Tomales series, I "GET" it now....lol
